Danish west Indies, 1 cent 1905, KM#75  mintmaster initial P, moneyers initial GJ,  these Islands were purchased in 1917 by the USA for $25,million

It's actually a 5 bit piece, since in 1904 the DWI had introduced the franc (equalling 100 bit) in the standard of the Latin Monetary Union.
For convenience the coins kept the denominations in the previous daler / cent currency.  since the daler was equal one US-dollar the,
5 francs were a little less than 1 daler.  bad luck, if had some gold to change over.

The heart is the mintmark of the Copenhagen mint. P is Vilhelm Buchard Poulsen, GJ is Knud Gunnar Jensen. I am amused by the Caduceus (trade), trident (seafaring, probably including fisheries) and sickle (agriculture). No industry, not even fruit canning in sight, even in 1905. Karl Marx would have been frustrated. ;)
