I don't think it's from Atchih/Atscheh/Atjeh/Aceh/..., but I'm not sure.

Judge for yourself. I am attachng part of a plate from Netscher and Van der Chijs De Munten van Nederlandsch IndiŽ beschreven en afgebeeld. With appropriate fantasy, you can read "Bandar Atjeh dar-as-salam" on the upper picture. However, I cannot match the other side with NvdC 187.

For the sake of completeness, I have gone through Saran Singh The coins of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. I have not been able to find anything like it, though some of the illustrations leave to be desired.

Hi Peter,

I much appreciate your effort to find a match for this coin.

I will place him for now under Acheh.

For a very similar coin, look here (http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=6595.0). I went through Saran Singh twice but couldn't come up with something convincing.

Now we have two unidentified ones!  :-\

This must be an issue of Achen (Atjeh). The text on the coin seems to read:
Bandar Dar al-Salam/Masruf Acheh.
The coin show quite some similarity with Mitch (1979) #3091.

Both pictured coins are Aceh.    It is not in Saran Singh because it is in Indonesia.     A lot of previously unrecorded tin varieties are being found lately.     The 19-20 mm pieces are keping.    The 13-16mm or so ones are older, pitis.    The beaded borders, and "masruf" (small money) usually indicate Aceh.   One of these pieces looks like it reads Dar al-Salam, upwards.   Also that is exclusive to Aceh.    I have a similar 19mm one with partial legends, was searching for an image of the whole coin before posting at Zeno.
