Title: Australian $
Post by: gpimper on June 28, 2019, 03:36:51 AM
I'm a bit put out that I've never had the chance to visit Down Under.  Wife went twice...not fare!  Cool coin she brought back, though :-)

The reverse refers to "a mob of Kangaroos"

The reverse refers to "a mob of Kangaroos"

A potentially dangerous mob at that...or so I hear. No kangaroos in New Jersey. ;D

Another from the wife’s collection.  Heavy…just under 9g and 25mm.  I had to do some research on Sr. Henry Parkes.  Fascinating!

I've not seen this one posted, so...
It's another from the Wife's many journeys but one of my favorites.  I very much appreciate the design of the Coat of Arms (kangaroo and an emu...really?)  Big coin; 15.54g and about 30mm.

I like it.  All six States represented and a great design.

Here is one that I very much like but I had to research Ian Rank-Broadley.  2001 $2 dollar, 6.6g and 20.6mm.  Pretty coin!
