Post by: quaziright on June 26, 2019, 05:29:55 PM
US mint just annouced a joint set of the american eagle and canadian maple leaf on its website. Not sure if it will be available through RCM too though I'd not be interested in it eitherway since i do not collect bullion

Sounds like a nice idea. :)  Then again, if it's just the "packaging" that sets these coins apart from the regular issues, I won't buy them either ...

Just saw this press release (https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/the-royal-canadian-mint-and-united-states-mint-team-up-to-launch-joint-pride-of-two-nations-coin-set-300874396.html) about the "Pride of Two Nations" ...

Quote: "The set contains a special numismatic version of a Silver Maple Leaf coin, featuring a modified proof finish and reverse design, as well as a United States Mint American Eagle 1 oz. silver coin with an enhanced reverse proof finish. Both finishes are firsts for these coins." In the press release there is also a link to this gallery (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/01iswseacf2oe63/AAAYHfnYZqp-b2AAtERU9ZCfa?dl=0) ...

I just posted one of my Daughter's maple leaf coins.  I find them very appealing.  Cool design in my opinion.
