Title: Will Vietnam have circulation coins soon?
Post by: Pabitra on January 08, 2019, 11:19:52 AM
See

https://english.thesaigontimes.vn/65400/central-bank-to-stop-printing-small-currency-notes-for-tet.html

Not printing smaller notes during Tet means that life of smaller notes has become very short and thus they have lost viability.

Will this lead to issue of new denomination circulation coins?
Last series was issued in 2003.

As the article linked to put it:

This is the seventh consecutive year that the central bank has adopted this stance.

Therefore, this is non-news, no change.

Have given up on present series.
Have identified the reason for failure ( although personally, I do not agree with that)

See

Will they make another attempt is the most important question.
