Tommy Sasseen.

Tommy Sasseen was apprenticed and employed as die sinker at the South African Mint, Pretoria, from 1950 to 1974. I do not know whether Mr Sasseen is still alive.

Tommy Sasseen's initials appear on many coins of South Africa and Rhodesia. Sometimes he produced the designs, on other occasions he only modelled them or engraved them.

I am grateful to Bezt Coins for allowing me to show this screen shot from their web site. It is very difficult to find information about Mr Sasseen. Below is a link to the web page. It is based in South Africa and may take a long time to load, but it is well worth waiting for. There are many members of this site who are interested in tokens, and they will see a token from Mr Sasseen's father's business.

Great stuff to have collected and posted this information here! Thank you. Since mr. Sasseen was born in 1932, he should be dead on average, but may well be alive in spite of the statistics ;)
