I wonder if it will be the uncouped (different) portrait that some other countries/territories are using?

That’s the one, yes.  I think we established before that it’s not just an uncoupled version of the same portrait, but a different portrait.

Uncoupled from what?

As soon as the original new effigy was released, I asked the Royal Mint on their Facebook page whether an uncouped version had been created for overseas territories. The Royal Mint declined to comment.

It is the one I thought, then.  At first glance it can look like she’s naked.  The line where her dress starts on the left could be mistaken for her collar bone.  Not so much the one on the right though.

I Agree. Who would want such a provocative picture of a 90 something year old

"The new effigy was designed by UK Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark and has been in use in the UK since 2015."

That last part is not true.

Definitely preferable to the UK version. I hope the Australians are paying a large fee for this and that I get my due cut as an Englishman.  >:(

“The transition to a new effigy on all Australian coinage will begin in 2019 and continue into 2020". Interesting.

That is both sides of the same $1 coin?  Interesting.  I like how they’re effectively commemorating the passing of the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait.

I prefer their new portrait to the UK one too.  It would have made a nice change to have it nicely rounded off like that instead of another harsh cut on the neck.

Sixth effigy?  In the UK we’ve only had five.  Australia got another one did they?  They’re surely not counting the one-off 2000 Royal visit one are they?

Has the texture of the Queen's dress been enhanced by the RAM to protect her modesty? It doesn't look like it does on the Manx coins.

Welcome on World of Coins Forum GCVO!
I was wondering about the same. It indeed seems as if it was modified.

Definitely different!  I can’t see Jody Clark’s initials on the Isle of Man version either.

Well, we will have to wait for images of the minted coins before we can draw such conclusion. Jody Clark's initials are not on that image but are included on the Manx coins.

The Royal Australian Mint has now issued 2019-dated 1 dollar coins into circulation with the old portrait of the Queen.

I've seen 2019 20c pieces with the old portrait and I've heard reports of 5c pieces too.

Apparently, all 6 circulation denominations have been minted with the new and the old effigy in 2019:

The swap was on Tuesday - all six denominations (non-commemorative) were available with both the new and old portraits.
