Title: French Polynesia 50 Francs (1967), KM# 7
Post by: Bimat on July 01, 2017, 05:24:37 PM
Added a new coin to my small collection (2 coins in total! :D) of French Polynesian coins.

50 Francs (1967), KM# 7, 33.0 mm, 15.0 g, Nickel. Mintage: 600,000.

The reverse depicts Mo'orea (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mo%27orea) island.

There is a smilar KM# 13, which has I.E.O.M legend below the neck on obverse.

See this thread (http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,7241.0.html) for more information on the engraver of the obverse. Are you trying to get a coin from each UN member?

Thanks Peter! :)

And no, I'm really not actively looking to get one coin from each UN country. Only if I'm getting a chance to add a country which is not represented in my collection for a reasonable price, I go ahead with buying it. ;) I had coins from French Polynesia before getting this coin (two coins as I mentioned in my post), I happened to win this one for a mere €1 on eBay, along with couple of other coins (Niue Steffi Graf coin shown before and two euro coin sets)...
