Title: Liberia cent 1862/42
Post by: mrbadexample on June 28, 2017, 01:53:19 AM
This was a recent auction lot.

Krause SCWC lists the 1 cent as 1862/42. However, this photo of the auction lot shows clearly, to me at least, that this is 1862/47. This would make sense as the issue prior to 1862 was 1847, and 1842 was not issued.

I regret being the underbidder.  >:(

Convincing picture. In my experience, nothing beats having a coin in hand, but having such good pictures comes closest. The bottom line is that you bid what it was worth to you. If it was worth more to someone else, so be it.
