Good stuff all, Paul. Your Egyptian token pages must be the best available on the subject on the net as well as elsewhere.

Detail: I asked the owner of the stand in Beverwijk why it was called "Tseppas". He was very interested in the tokens I showed him but confessed he was no relative. The name was chosen "to honour a famous pastry shop in Egypt", he said. Since the market caters to many Arab clients (which gives it a pleasant exotic flavour), he doubtless hoped that more people would assume he was a member of the Tseppas family. Nevertheless, reason enough to mention the stand as evidence of an enduring recognition of the Tseppas brand name.
