I was wondering if we are having the competition this year...Andy never disappoints! :)

Shall give a try...not sure if I've got anything until now. ::)

Just in case there is a participant who looks beyond coins, I am offering this coin-in-a-medal as an extra prize. It looks like at least the surface is silver, but there are no guarantees. What I like in particular about this medal is that Britain looks suspiciously like a dollar sign ;)

I have five sets of complete answers so far - Prosit, Miner, Spabreda, eurocoin and Afrasi.
Quickest again Mr. Prosit.

One partial sets of answers - Fosseway.

Still worth sending them in as all the correct answers will be placed in a draw (as last time) so everyone is still in with a chance of the prizes (besides the prestige of having 10 correct answers :)) - plus everyone who enters will receive a small gift from me.

Kind of anti-stereotypical for a Texan don't you think  ;D    8) 8)

.....Quickest again Mr. Prosit....

Won't get ten correct answers, I know, but at least I recognized one right away! I will devote some time to this right after Christmas. Nice "puzzle" in more than one way!

I found # 7 to be the biggest challenge but none were obvious to me.
2 and 3 were the easiest.

#4 was the most difficult for me, but in the end none of them were extremely difficult.

If I made it fiendishly difficult no one would enter...... :)

I see like Dale. I had very fast 9 correct answers, number 7 I still do not know.  :-[

1, 4, 7 and 10 are yet to be identified for me. The other 6 I did from memory, and I haven't started any trawling through KM or anything yet. No. 1 is on the tip of my brain but I can't quite place it. On the face of it, 4 should be the hardest, with no readily identifiable design element other than the hole.

I've got all but three, I'm just lazy, having all this free time makes you not do what you could do. Spent ages trying to find the middle one...... We'll see if I can get anything by tomorrow!

I now have a seventh set of answers from Augsburger.

Unfortunately I've run out of time to do any more research - I blame it on too many relatives.

Who's Bitmat I wonder?!? ;) :D

Strictly speaking, I don't have any clue about the answers. Absolutely no clue! I messaged him two guesses, both half correct (I believe) so I don't even deserve the consolation prize as Andy has promised...

Aditya

PS: In case there are 3+ (or rather 4+) winners, I'd be happy to send a prize for the 4th/5th winner; just like last year. We can have the draw as we had in 2013/2014... :)

Maybe we should have exchanged private notes before. I had some hopefully half correct answers too. Merge the two, and you get one perfect set ... or so. ;D

Results will be announced shortly,

This year (as Chrisild entered) I've asked malj1 to allocate each entrant with 10 correct answers a number - Figleaf will then in parallel allocate a number to each prize - so no-one will know who's won in advance.

Auto correct at work no doubt. However if it was me feel free to remove mine from the drawing.
Not a problem and it was great fun!

Tips for previous years (and poor knowledge of the English language) prevented me. I realized that the first letter of the word you can make, but not properly thought that this word CURRENTIES. Therefore №7 sought first among the countries with the letter "T" instead of "C"

OK results from Mal are in ...

Hello Andrew,

I cut all those names up into little strips of paper then tossed them in the air, then picked them up and shuffled them and then read them off as :

    Prosit 7

    Miner 3

    Spabreda 6

    Bart 5

    eurocoin 4

    augsburger 2

    Afrasi 1

Mal.

Peters results also in -
Could you allocate these numbers to another number please -

Order of prizes
1 - no. 6
2 - no. 1
3 - no. 3
4 - no. 5
5 - no. 2
6 - no. 4
7 - no. 7

I hope that's random enough.

Peter

Just a thought - Why not run your own competition another month ?

Two reasons:

1. I'm lazy. >:(

2. I think competitions like this need lot of creativity which I lack. Finding suitable coins with the decided numismatic terminology needs lot of hard work and patience...
