I want to store my collection of Indonesian, VOC and Netherlands Indies coins. Most are in 2x2s, so I might get an album that takes 2x2s and some extra 2x2s for the rest. Only problem with 2x2s is that the plastic does get in the way of the coin a bit, but I guess they are not too bad (better than those 'coin tombs') Any recommendations for albums?

Didn't you say that you'll be staying in Groningen for some time later this year? Any average-sized Dutch dealer of postage stamps and/or coins has a variety of albums for sale. Most albums take 20 2x2s per page. Best brands are Importa (my choice) and Leuchtturm.

I just bought a Lindner banknote album from them. It was priced at £25, which is about the normal price for album without pages.The picture on their site showed the album with pages (it is sold as a set, normally for about £40). I called to check which it was, and they said it came with the pages, so I ordered it because it was a very good deal. But when it came just the basic package, no pages I guess they made a mistake on the phone because £25 would have been too cheap.
So I called up to complain, and they've sent me 20 pages (which cost £1 each), free of charge, no problems.
I will check to see if those brands you mention are available in the Uk.

That's exactly why I don't buy albums, just pages. Album pages in this country are more or less A4 format with four holes. They will fit in any four ring binder. I get the binders for free. You find them in any bureaucracy, whether a bank, a post office, a ministry or an NGO, where people throw them out with contents. Just take out the contents and throw them away separately. You receive them with bank accounts, in conferences and courses. I have so many of them I don't even bother any more with the gray carton ones and just keep the generic white plastic ones.
I get the album pages from this dealer (http://www.mevius.nl/), who accepts online orders. If you use three ring album pages, US format in the UK you will not find these in the Netherlands.

I only have banknote albums at the moment. (Nothing for coins.)
You can obviously use normal stationer's albums, but I decided to buy the Lindner series of albums. They are expensive but they look nice, they have 18-rings and a nice finish and matching slipcases. It's nice to have a nice album if you are showing your collection to someone else, rather than a poor-quality one. Of course it adds extra expense, even more so if you buy the leather albums.
