Title: Akbar. Do Tanki, Mint: Ahmedabad. Ilahi 50 Aban
Post by: asm on January 25, 2014, 08:17:57 AM
Akbar died in the early days of the month of Aban Ilahi 50. So this coin would have been minted in the last few days of his rule. Another interesting feature of the 2 Tanki is that the legend reads Cho Tanki or 4 Tanki.

All do tanki coins that I have encountered seems to be struck from chau tanki dies. I'm yet to see a clear Do tanki written on flan.
