You can refer these posts here (http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,5142.0.html) & here (http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,12278.msg82962.html#msg82962) to understand about these enigmatic  religious Hindu tokens.

Many varieties exists with  different metal compositions.

What is the metal of the  token you are possessing ?

AFAIK  these tokens with silver (http://www.todyauction.com/PopAuctionImages.aspx?ListNumber=22&ListType=A&LotNo=255) & gold (http://www.todyauction.com/PopAuctionImages.aspx?ListNumber=45&ListType=A&LotNo=187) compositions are equivalent to market value of gold/silver+ making charges , however in case of  copper tokens  normally in range of 1 - 2 USD/piece , as these are all contemporary tokens  thus doesn't bear any numismatic  value rather than religious sentiments.

Cheers ;D

I love these things...the copies not the original old stuff...and temple tokens in general, can't afford that old stuff and an not wise enough to know one if I saw one.  I have a couple but as you might imagine, they are a little difficult to find in a coin shop in Texas  ;D

That is a BIG image!

Not sure if fake is the right word. It is an object that has been made for a very long time, lately in cheaper metal, but its purpose is unchanged.

I wouldn't call the fakes either.  Modern copies of old designs but with the same purpose.
