Title: Sichuan-Shensi 500 cash - featuring hammer and sickel
Post by: gxseries on June 24, 2012, 12:03:24 PM
Here's one rather difficult coin to find

Featuring the Communist era in China. I bought this a while ago but left it in olive oil for a while to remove the verdigris. Hence you might see some marks around it.

All Chinese hammer/sickle coins are so difficult they didn't even figure in KM until recently.

Is that a clip or edge damage?

It looks like a clip damage there but I'm still happy with what I have. Looking at the current trend, prices are just absurd at best.

A clip would make it an error coin. Even more interesting and certainly not a problem. Edge damage is a different story. A clip would be comprehensible. After all, this is a wartime coin.

I agree on the prices. I'll stick to pictures of these coins. Thanks.
