Here is another addition to my budding collection of Akbar's coinage. The dealer ticket identifies the coin as Akbar , Tanka (7.05gm), Mandu ( which is not visible) KM-75 var. I was able to read the year as AH 975 with the Persian '5' barely visible. The ticket also mentions the large star below the 'L' of rasul on the reverse.
I was not able to locate this coin in my SCWC from 1600-1700 as its a earlier issue. A. Liddle's book identifies this type of coin as S-23 but does not have much information. I believe these coins are common as there are a few examples on Zeno.
I would like to hear your opinion on his issue and coin. Any more information on the coin is also appreciated.
