Another cheaper option is to buy the "INDIA PAPER MONEY GUIDEBOOK 2010-11", which is available for Rs. 750.00 only.

Of course, India Papar Money by Jhunjhunwala is the best book available on the subject, by it should cost you about Rs. 3000 for a new copy.

Now, a new book by Jhunjuhnwala is also available in the market for Rs. 500.00. I have not seen this book personally, but I believe, this book on Indian Currency Notes should be good. But the difference is that while the earlier book had all the Princely States, British India, Presidency and Independent India notes, this book deals with only Independent India notes.
