According to Krause - the P is Pulicat, the retrograde N is Negnapatam - but I can't find the "w" ?

The W is a badly formed retrogade N. I encounter the retrogade N more often than the correct N, but my sample is small.

You will find that the funny characters above the V all consist of three strokes (the N) and two serifs. The die cutters were strange to European letters. They made a pretty good P, though. :)
