Here is the usual annual competition once again!

Same rules as always -
Simply PM me your answers and I will post the amount you have correct, send as many PM's with answers as you like.  To win if you have 10 correct answers we will hold a draw, if no one has 10 then the 1st prize goes to whoever has most.

Please do not post answers in this thread.

Last entry is 31st December 2021, after which I will post the prize (s) to the winner (s).

Good luck :)

Very Nice! I'm already addicted to trying to get these!

FosseWay

Great  :)

Just the ticket for next week when we're going to get snowed in, apparently.

I already have a complete set of answers from Velind - congratulations!

I still need to find some prizes.
.....I had my booster jab yesterday so a bit under the weather today.

Another problem this year, I usually send some commemorative UK coins to everyone who entered, but this year we've not had any actually in circulation :-\

Figleaf

Fear not. I have some stuff left here and there. I hope EU commemoratives will do also.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I now have answers from,
Velind,
mmiguel
eurocoin
quaziright
and SpaBreda.

Still plenty of time left to enter for a chance to win one of the prizes below,
a 1971 Austria Proof Set,
an 1899 UK Crown
or a 2021 UK £5

I've got 9 of them... Still investigating no. 1  :)

bart

Again, this is a very entertaining challenge indeed. ;)

andyg

two more sets of answers from bart and fosseway.

Plenty of time before the 31st to send in some answers for a chance to win something!

I won't be able to take part this time as I did in previous years. Still I think this is a great tradition. Thanks Andyg for organizing and keeping it up!

chrisild

Hmm, piece #5 could be a 1 dollar coin. ;D  Yes, definitely a hard but great game. Thanks for the challenge, Andy! Will not participate as ... sounds crazy but ... the time between Christmas and New Year's has actually been quite busy for me. And coming up with an at least somewhat plausible solution for each of the pieces is too tough for me. All the best to the active participants! Have fun researching and submitting ... 8)

Perhaps it was too easy this year...?

I had wondered if the English spelling of "colour" would catch everyone out, but we all coped with this!
I'll be back with the results shortly.

this year I asked Afrasi to put the numbers 1-7 in random order,
this generated the following 7421536.

Chrisild then gave me the following list,

Velind - 6
mmiguel - 5
eurocoin - 4
quaziright - 2
SpaBreda - 3
bart - 7
fosseway - 1

so first place is 7 - Bart, 2nd is 4 - eurocoin, 3rd is 2 quaziright - congratulations all. :)
I have a something for everyone else, if you could PM your postal address.

Happy new year!

Just opened up a lovely letter from andyg. A lovely £5 prize and an equally pleasant bonus gift, a 50p commemorating Decimalisation!

Thank you very much again for the yearly quiz and the prizes!
