SGSSI, 50 pence, 2020.  The 250th anniversary of the launch of the ship HMS Resolution.

50 pence coins are very popular with collectors, and in 2020 SGSSI issued its first collector 50 pence.

The obverse legend shown for the Chinstrap Penguin on the Pobjoy Mint site is incorrect.

It is the same as on the HMS Resolution coin.

South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands from southwest to southeast, with 2020 in the gap.

The 2020 4-coin penguin series features all of the breeding species of penguin found on South Georgia and the two (Chinstrap and Gentoo) found in the South Sandwich Islands.
