As part of a short break from work this week I thought I would try and use a small Wacom tablet we have to map out the text on a rupee.  I don't speak or write Arabic but I want to learn enough to decipher coin inscriptions so I don't have to rely on seller attributions all the time - in many cases they are not fully attributed and you just get the name of the ruler but no mint or year.

Clearly I need to improve my calligraphy with this tablet but I think this can work with some practice.  Any and all corrections gratefully accepted!

Muhammad Shah rupee RY3,  AH 113X,  11.56gm, 25mm Surat mint.

Excellent work, Tterrier. I get an impressive amount of feedback on how useful colour overlays are for taking the threshold of Arabic calligraphy. We even have two indexes devoted to overlays.
