This is the largest and also the thinnest Afghan Falus I've seen,
likely Kabul again - it has a date too - AH1296
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

It may or may not be relevant, but AH1296 = 1879 AD. In that year, Kabul was occupied in the Second Anglo-Afghan war. I could imagine that a thin, large coin may have been an effort by the Kabul mint staff to sabotage the coin supply, or that the mint staff was fired for being unreliable and replaced by British soldiers without experience in minting.
