Even Mumbai mint was previously charging the gateway charges. It is only from last booking that it's stopped. Hopefully Kolkata mint will follow soon.

Could be as a result of digital India push and Government organisations taking a while to adopt.

Mumbai Mint is Charging HIDDEN payment gateway charges & fooling, fleecing & deceiving customers by saying its 0!! So much for govt pushing for Digital India!! Mumbai Mint should be ashamed for hiding payment gateway charges, atleast Kolkata Mint is openly informing & looting customers!

Price of Rs 1000 UNC coin = 3540 (shown till the last payment page & even in SMS confirmation)
Price charged in credit card statement finally!: 3623.54
EXTRA HIDDEN payment gateway charges: Rs 83.54!!!

I wonder why they have to fool the limited no. of people who buy their over expensive coins!!!

Well the payment gateway for sure ie. HDFC. Govt Mint just washes its hands off it! Payment gateways generally charges 2% + 18% GST on transactions. So one ends up paying 2.36% extra charges! Most startups & private companies bear this extra 2.36% gateway charges from their own pockets & not pass it onto the consumers! Its only our Digital India Govt companies dont bear this cost & charge extra on it! Prime example is IRCTC for ticket booking, you pay an X amount during booking & an X+Y amount gets charged to you in the credit card statement later! But IRCTC, State Electricity Boards, Kolkata Mint explicitly mention that this charge will be extra for payment gateway!

2.36% of 3540 is Rs 83.544 which is what got added extra!

What annoys me to the core Mumbai Mint never mentioned this anywhere & very slyly & cleverly passed on these charges! Even someone else had mentioned that Mumbai Mint didnt charge extra this time! I'm pretty sure the charges would be added up in the card statement later which he may not have noticed!

This is Seriously Cheating in my opinion from Mumbai Mint!!

Exactly, I have faced these kind of situation.

I was having only mentioned amount in my bank account as per total price with valid bank commison or whatever they say. But after confirmation they try to deduct with some extra money even if it's 50rs the whole transaction declined due to no suffient fund available in my account.

So they should Clearly mentioned before payment n no hidden charges.
