UK, 2 pounds, 2005.




In 2005 Mr Elderton at last achieved his ambition of designing a circulating coin for the UK: a two pound coin commemorating the sixtieth anniversary of the end of World War 2 and portraying St. Paul's Cathedral, London, during the Blitz.

A silver $50 coin accompanied the gold coin, and it carried the same design of the parliament building by Robert Elderton.
