It used to be the case that all the UK circulation coins had beads around the rim, apart from the seven-sided twenty and fifty pence coins. Then, when the Dent series of designs was introduced, only the standard circulation two pound coin retained its beads. These appear on both obverse and reverse, but it seems that the beads have never appeared on the reverse of a commemorative BIMETALLIC two pound coin.
