Alderney fantasies

In 2007 a series of 28 fantasy 1 pound coins from Alderney was minted at some Chinese private mint. Their issuance has never been authorized by the Treasury Department of Alderney and so these pieces are illegal. The pieces were made bimetallic by partial plating and depict a copy of the fourth portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley on the obverse. The obverse appears to be in reverse proof quality while the reverse is proof quality.

The series depicts the Governors of Hong Kong. Below a list of all issues in this series, in the chronological order in which they were Governor of Hong Kong and with their names as spelled on the pieces.
