Timurid, Shah Rukh (AH807-50, 1405-47AD), AR Tanka, Astarabad.

Shah Rukh was the youngest son of Timur, the founder of the Timurid Dynasty. After the death of Timur the territory fell apart. Shah Rukh came to control the eastern part of the realm.

This is an AR Tanka from the fifth coinage class (AH827-850), Type B1.
The obverse shows the Kalima in a square. In the margins the names of the four "rightly guided Caliphs" of Sunni Islam.
The  reverse shows the mintname Astarabad and year AH831 in a circle. The name and titles of the ruler around.

I think this is a nice example of a quite common type.
AR 22 mm, 5.12 gr, Album 2405
