Agree this coin deserves its own thread. I therefore split the topic.

No references at hand here. legend seems to be read as:
Sri   Pa /||\ Ja Ya
Sam T   / \

However, the "Sam"looks more like "Su" compare the coins of Sussala Deva. Alos have my doubts on the "T". So the reading seems questionable to me.

Thanks for your guidance. Now about the rarity of this coin? One among Very common/common/scarce/rare/very rare/extremely rare " to be chosen. On a scale of 0 to 10 about rarity, how much would this coin rate in this condition?

RG

Hi All,
Another collector has told me that this is same as the coin of Jayasimha who ruled 1128-1155 AD, but only a different variety. But is there any reference for this type of die variety/variety for Jayasimha? My friend was not able to corroborate.

This coin is not in Mitchiner. Don't know if it is in any more specialised work.
As for rarity. Yours is the first one i have seen a photo of. It is certainly not common. Can not really give a valuation.
The style could very well be contemporary with the other Jayasimha type.

Great addition !
WoC has accumulated a great collection of specimen of these Kashmir coinage by now. Very nice for reference purposes of new collectors.

Has anyone noted the difference in obverse motif between my coin and Rajagopal's coin? Look at the trident, in one coin it is on left side and on the other it is on right side. Is it that trident in both hands are there?? ;)

I think no-one here will have seen enough of these to encounter one so perfectly centered and also containing both tridents. So really can not answer that  :-\.
