Some years ago, the new coin series were leaked on the web:

Simple series but beautiful, it seems that the coins were minted on Slovakia.

Yes, 2009 series coins were minted at Kremnica mint but not issued.
That time demonetisation was 1000:1 and now 10000:1
May be the same coins may get issued.
However, 2 Roubles bimetallic will have to be made now.

President Lukashenko has said that the new money has been ready to be issued for several years already. Also, the 50 rouble banknote uses the old spelling for the denomination and all banknotes have the signature of P. Prokopovich, who was the chairman until 2011.

Lukashenko has periods of trying to cosy up to the EU, and periods of cosying up to Putin. When he's pro-Putin, he doesn't want to mess with the status quo in a way that feels permanent, because it is an admission that his former dream of a united Russian-Belarusian state with himself at its head is no more. Everything is held in a state of suspended animation in anticipation of full reforms to the joint state when the latter is achieved.

When he's pro-EU, he is more likely to want to show his willingness to change.

Russia may have given up the idea of Eurasian Economic Union but Belarus has not.
It has just issued 1 and 20 Rubel coins on the same subject

Here's an image of new coins/banknotes which explains new conversion nicely. Image Source: Maryia Rohava (@selsomhet) on Twitter.

Introduction date: July 01, 2016. Old coins banknotes will remain in circulation along with new coins banknotes for a period of 6 months i.e. till December 31.

There are no old coins to remain in circulation.

Coins upto and including 1 Rouble were minted in 2008-09 by Kremnica mint for issue in 2009 and hence bear the date 2009.

Coin of 2 Rouble is an after thought and was minted by Lithuania mint this year and is bimetallic.
I wonder if this bears the date of 2009 ( as indicated in the image) or 2016?

You're right, the 2 rouble coin was minted the last year in Lithuania, but the date is 2009 to follow the dates of the rest of the series.
