I read CHV on the right. Encouraging, but it's not the duchy of Churland, because that is spelled CVR in latin. Tried Chur in Sitzerland, got nowhere, asked help.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I've been looking again and again. With my best lens (looking glass) I found out on the right the letters: CHIE

My wife also tryed, she also figured out the CHIE, but she also Has seen an L or I and a V
So it is possible that it says CHIELV or CHIEIV.

But my search for that has been also to an stop, can't find anything

Couldn't it be (AR)CHI (dux) EL(ector)? I have the impression of reading the AR before the CHI

Makes sence, but i thought that the chie part starts at the top of the shield. So my idea was that there is no part before the chie part. Or is that an wrong thought of my?

I think I can see above the shield E : AR and on the right CHIEL V, which could make it Archduke elector and ???(something like duke of...)E

I found using a scanner instead of a cell phone may seriously help identifying parts of the coin. Use a resolution of 600px. Don't make the picture as large as possible, but enhance its format and contrast with an easy program like (for instance) Irfanview. That helps against headpain!

You may find tips about how to make good pictures in this thread. It's not about making a picture as large as possible, but about making it sharp and well-lighted. (I'm told the best light for cameras is daylight on a cloudy autumn day  :)).

i really don't know what you mean. Its an 12 mm coin with an lot of wear, so an picture is not going easy. But please stay ontopic.

Just want to help you: a smaller and sharper photo makes a coin easier to recognize.
I made this smaller and sharper picture for you with Irfanview. I think now it is clear that it says: :ARCHIEL....E
And could that be a double eagle in the coat of arms on the obverse?
I don't know anything about coins like this, but 'Archi' is part of either Archbishop, Arch-chancellor or Archduke. If EL is 'Elector', that narrows the choice even more.
