Pillar dollars had dominated the Americas for so long, that when the Spanish empire declined, there was demand for coins that were no longer produced. Cut and counterstamped pieces didn't solve the situation, as they were easily faked. Here is the ultimate solution of the Dutch administration on Curaçao: make your own.

Could someone please tell me what a reasonable price would be for an 1821 Curacao 1 Reaal with 4 acorns. This is the one I have.

Your picture suggests EF. See here. Take into account that US auction houses routinely hype coins, resulting in inflated prices.
