Commemorative coins in conjunction with 25th Silver Jubilee N-Day

The Brunei Currency and Monetary Board will today (Feb 23) issue commemorative coins in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of the National Day of Brunei Darussalam, which will be on sale starting tomorrow (Feb 24).
According to Pg Hj Hashim Pg Hj Mohd Jadid, the General Manager of the Mint Gallery and Marketing at the Brunei Currency and Monetary Board, there are three types of commemorative coins issued.

The first one is a commemorative coin made of gold 999.9 and has a face value of $25. For this coin, the observe design is the portrait of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The reverse design is the picture of His Majesty with Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien.

The coin weighs 31.10gm and is measured at 38mm in diameter. The selling price for this coin is B$2,000 and there are only 200 pieces available.

The second one is a commemorative coin made of silver carrying a face value of $2.50. The obverse design of the coin is the portrait of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The reverse design is the picture of His Majesty with Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien.

This coin also weighs 31.10gm but is measured at 40.70mm. It will be sold at B$300 and there are only 200 pieces available for sale.

Meanwhile, the third set of the commemorative coin is made of Cupronickel and carries a face value of B$0.25. The obverse design of the coin is the portrait of His Majesty the Sultan and the reverse design is a star motive with 25 segments and the Crest of Brunei Darussalam.

There will be 200 pieces of this coin for sale at B$150 each. The Cupronickel coin weighs 31.10gm and is measured at 40.70mm.

On top of this, the Brunei Currency and Monetary Board will also be selling a 3-in-1 set which includes the $25, $2.50 and $0.25 commemorative coins. There will be 170 sets available costing at $2,500 per set.

The coins are only available at the Brunei Currency and Monetary Board at the Ministry of Finance.
