Mols-Linien Token from Denmark
« on: October 07, 2014, 10:03:29 PM »
The attached photo is a token from Mols-Linean, a long-distance Danish ferry company that operates between Sjælland and Jylland. Any information about the use of the token would be welcome. I would tend to doubt it's a fare token.  White metal, 20 millimeters. Photo: ebay.

This is not a fare token.

I just received an email with the following explanation from Jørgen Thingvad, who lives in Jutland.

"The attached token is a gaming machine token used on board ferries sailing betveen Ebeltoft and Odden. The line is called Mols Line.
"The token is manufactured by the Danish firm JK-Automater in 1993. The token exists in two issues. brass and nickel-plated iron.
"Have no idea about the number 4, and do not know whether this token is still in use. Value on board unknown, perhaps about 1 danish krone at the time of use (1993)-). Value as a collecting item, unknown, perhaps 5 - 10 danish kroner.

"Catalogue reference:
Spille- og Automatmærker 1993, by Viktor Søndergaard.
No. 1717 brass 20 mm...No. 1718 nickel-plated iron 20 mm."
