Thanks. Good list. A few more:

Numismatische Kring Oost Nederland - Oeang, ruil en betaalmiddelen in Indië - Arnhem 1999 (Dutch).

Anonymous - Munten van de Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie en van Nederlands Indië 1594-1949 (Dutch), 2nd edition, 1975 cheap version of Scholten's book with (very old) valuations but better pictures than Scholten.

Hans van Weeren - Money in Paradise, de circulatie van papiergeld in Nederlands Indië en Indonesië 1940 – 1950 in "'t Watermerk, Jaargang 13 – Nummer 2 – Juni 2003" (Dutch) downloadable from the link given.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Re: Hans van Weeren - Money in Paradise

This isn't a book, but we might as well extend to other websites.

Here are a few I have read online:

Two similar articles on inflation and coinage in the 17th and 18th Century Indies:
Heavy and light money in the Netherlands Indies and the Dutch Republic: dilemmas of monetary management with unit of account systems - Willem G Wolters
http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract?fromPage=online&aid=1815100 (pdf and html version linked at top right)
Managing multiple currencies with unit of account: Netherlands India 1600-1800 - Willem G Wolters  http://www.helsinki.fi/iehc2006/papers2/Wolters.pdf

http://users.erols.com/kurrency/asia.htm - TABLES OF MODERN MONETARY HISTORY: ASIA - historical exchange rates of the gulden and rupiah (including Riau and Irian)
http://www.indie-indonesie.nl/content/documents/papers-economic%20side/Makalah-Thomas%20Lindblad.pdf - FROM JAVA BANK TO BANK INDONESIA A CASE STUDY OF INDONESIANISASI IN PRACTICE
http://cip.cornell.edu/DPubS?service=Repository&version=1.0&verb=Disseminate&view=body&content-type=pdf_1&handle=seap.indo/1107015200# -POLITICAL DIMENSIONS OF THE CURRENCY QUESTION 1945-1947 - Robert Cribb. Discusses the 1945 to 1947 period in the context of bringing in the first Indonesian rupiah, the continued use of the Japanese rupiah/gulden, and the Dutch introduction of their own money. I would like to read something similar continuing up to 1949.....

http://www.uang-kuno.com/ - fairly active Indonesian language website on Indonesian (and Indies) paper money. Focused on collecting varieties of banknotes more than on history.
http://papermoney-indonesia.com/ - English language website on Indonesian (and Indies) paper money. Several articles on the historical perspective.

Bank Indonesia online (in English and Indonesian) - an admirable website with lots of historical information dating back to the foundation of De Javasche Bank (old name for BI) in the mid-19th Century:
http://www.bi.go.id/web/en/Tentang+BI/Museum/Koleksi/Cari+Koleksi/  - Images and data (circulation/withdrawal dates) for banknotes and coins issued since 1945 (some government notes missing, also some commemorative coins). I believe these items represent the contents of the Bank Indonesia Museum in Jakarta
http://www.bi.go.id/web/en/Tentang+BI/Museum/Sejarah+Bank+Indonesia/Sejarah+Pra-BI/ PRE HISTORY OF BANK INDONESIA   8 pdfs covering history of De Javasche Bank
http://www.bi.go.id/web/en/Tentang+BI/Museum/Sejarah+Bank+Indonesia/Sejarah+BI/ - History of Bank Indonesia - Divided into four topics: History, Monetary Policy, Banking Policies, Payment System. Each in six pdfs, covering a part of the period 1953 - 2005
http://www.bi.go.id/web/en/Sistem+Pembayaran/Instrumen+Pembayaran+Tunai/Gambar+Uang/ - Cash payment Instruments. Coin and Currency data

I'm sure there are others that I have read but forgotten to list.

Correct, it is an article in a magazine.

I am interested in the first publication, but the link is either dead or available after payment only.
