India will issue coins on 175th birth Ann of JN Tata, tentatively on March 3, 2014.

Kolkata mint will coordinate and set will have Rs 5 and Rs 100 coins.

Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata (3 March 1839 – 19 May 1904) was an Indian pioneer industrialist, who founded the Tata Group, India's biggest conglomerate company. He was born to a Parsi Zoroastrian family in Navsari then part of the princely state of Baroda.
He founded what would later become the Tata Group of companies. Jamsetji Tata is regarded as the legendary "Father of Indian Industry".

Thanks Pabitra ji for the info. I was also hearing whispers about the coin on 175th Anniversary of Jamsetji Tata. However I was not sure if the news is correct or just a rumor. Therefore I refrained from posting it. Thanks for confirming it.

Indeed a good news.  ;D Being a Kolkatan, I donot feel like buying the Kolkata mint products... >:( Mumbai mint would have been the best choice. Hope the Indian mints will soon have customer care cells in FB atleast like the royal mint and will respond favorably to public demands...May be a distant dream... :'( :'(

Pabitra

The date still stands.
The denominations are confirmed.

Only change it appears is that coordinating mint is Mumbai.

The newspaper headlines "In a first" is slightly misleading ...
