Ehepaar_Welz.jpg

Ferdinand Welz was married tio Edith Welz. They are seen here on a picture taken in 2005. The source of the picture is FERDINAND WELZ – EIN ÖSTERREICHISCHER MEDAILLEUR DES 20. JAHRHUNDERTS by Günther Dembski and Heinz Winter, which can be downloaded here.

The documents do not show who posed for the "Frau mit Goldhaube".

In this 5 min CoinWeek video (English), the Austrian Mint's chief engraver Helmut Andexlinger talks about the 10 schilling coin, and shows a few design studies. He says that Welz used to do sketches of people he saw, and then later elaborate on the drawings or sculptures.
