Imperial China, Western Han Dynasty: Anonymous (113BC - 25AD) Wu Zhu (Hartill-8.9)

Obv: Other Western Han Wu Zhus.  Similar to Hartill-8.8, but no rim above the hole. c. 90BC

The rim around the coin is noteworthy. It gives the design some protection from wear and makes it much easier to pile the coins. On European coins, this invention became common only when the steam engine was invented, some 1900 years later. An amazing piece in an amazing condition.
