Afghanistan falus Balkh 1295AH & Temple token "Ramatanka"
« on: March 13, 2013, 10:08:37 PM »
Hi all I have a collection of coins that I know all about except two coins. I have been trying to upload the pics on here but can't because of the size of the file. Please look at eBay item number 321084091679, the coins aren't for sale but I am trying to get info on them please. Cheers.

Your first "coin" is an Indian Temple token or Ramatanka. A search of the WoC forums will give you plenty of information on these. Just go to the Home page and use the search box in the top right corner. Ask for Ramatanka. I collect these, but yours is of a type unknown to me.

Can't help you with your second item, but on this forum there is always someone who knows.

Welcome Bob192b,
If you have any more coins then you can put coins on here with higher kb by using photobucket or tinypic etc. rather than paying Ebay insertion fees,   alternatively crop your images with windows' paint' where you can reduce the size of the image down to less than 65kb.

PS .  I like your Afghanistan coin, are you sure you won't sell it me for £999   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've captured & downsized your pics to fit the forum attachment size

bagerap is right, the first 'coin' is a Ramatanka. The words Ram Ram can be read on front side (the very first scan). These are modern temple tokens or lucky charms, available easily in India for 99p or even less. ;)

So what age would you say the ramatanka token is Bimat? Looking at the coin it does seem pretty aged

These 'Ramatanka's aren't so old, you can say from 1980 or later. It's difficult to say exactly when these were sturck but are definitely modern lucky charms. I guess they are intentionally preserved badly so as to look old.
