Have you tried Valentine's excellent book? It's out of copyright and can be downloaded free here.
(Hint: You may want to start with Afghanistan  ;))

Afghanistan, Balkh mint, dated AH 1228(-38?) = 1813(-23?) AD.,
Æ Falus (20-22 mm / 8,43 g / 2 mm high), copper, axes irregular alignment ↑<- (ca. 270°),
Obv.: two scimitars and pediment forming together a heart shaped ornament, flower in center.
Rev.: "zarb amal balad Balkh [١٢٢٨]" , struck in the mother of cities Balkh [1228], date AH 1228 off flan.
Valentine p. 160, no. 2 ; cf. KM 32 .

An excellent hint and great book, handmade depictions and script !
