Portugal, 25 escudos, topic of 1981, produced in 1982, issued in 1983, International Year of Disabled, António Feliciano de Castilho with his eyes closed - uniqueness REJECTED :)

I think it is a unique design device for coins but certainly seen a few times on so called trade dollars (not really coins) and other medals.

One of the things I am fascinated about concerning peace pipes is the stones used to carve the bowl and how they were constructed as well as the other materials used and certainly no less fascinating are the traditions and stories behind them.

I posted just a little bit about one of the traditional stones used to create them in one area or the US, post #33
Other material were used elsewhere.

Peace pipes can be found on other coins too. Well, I know of at least one (attached image borrowed from Wikipedia) featuring a tomahawk and a peace pipe. The pipe is not the core feature depicted here, but it's there ...

I wouldn't consider the Niue thingy as coin but yes, the US coin definitely shows a bulb! So my entry is rejected! :'(
