December competition 2011!
« on: December 24, 2011, 02:15:28 PM »
Somehow it's that time of year again...

You should know the drill by now!
Here is another made up coin, 10 fragments - all with a theme.
For hints see the 2010 thread or the 2009 thread

Simply PM me your answers and I will post the amount you have correct, send as many PM's with answers as you like.  The winner will be member with the first complete set of answers, or alternatively the member with most coins identified correctly.

Last entry is 30th December 2011, after which I will post the prize to the winner.

Please do not post answers in this thread.
Comments welcome!

Did someone mention prizes?

1st prize - choose one of the three coins,
2nd prize - choose one of the remaining two coins,
3rd prize - whatever's left

Southern Rhodesia Crown 1953, Falkland Isles 2 1992 and US $1 2011
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

Hello andyg!

Thank very much for this competition, one more year. This time I think it was more difficult than previous editions.

It took me a bit off side celebrating Christmas, but now I'm having some time to take the catalog and look for the most difficult ones. I have just sent you a message with a few guesses.

I hope that many of you are having such a good time as I am having.

Good luck! :)

Helow Andrew!

I think I got 9 of 10 (sent by PM) correct. Number 4 is cracking my head ...

Many thanks, Afrasi

It's not easy at all!

Still I have some idea from where all those coins come from. See my PM.
Once you know the theme, it really helps.
I had the most troubles with number 7.  ???

Sounds familiar ... Basically I think this is a fun contest; I just don't have the time and/or patience now, so I did not submit my "solutions". Maybe I will be better in, say, 51 weeks. ;)

Not enough for first prize, but enough to enter.

Impossible. I'm a perfectionist, I can't take part in something with only 20% of results.
So I've found all the ten!

You got a reply. As I wrote, I only recognized one piece, although I believe I know what the "common theme" is. ;)
