Shah Jahan Rupee, Lucknow mint, AH1051/RY15.

I think the date is completely off the flan on this one but can anyone spot the mint??

also ,it looks like a countermark of some kind at 3 oclock on the first image ?

The mint is Akbarabad with legends in dotted square; other types of this mint exist with legends in square, circle, dotted corcle...
The regnal year is visible just over the "J" of "Jahan" : 8

EDIT:  I can see it now after looking at KM #235.3,  under a magnifying glass the RY looks like it could be 15

inscription to the left of the kalima seems to differ from KM version

That's interesting,  I could only find one listing for Lakhnau ?   KM#235.18,  can't tell for sure the RY on mine ,either 17 or 15, neither listed for KM#235.18

Can you see the date on it  Oesho?  I tried in vain to find it, is the coin KM#235.18  ? the date appears in a place where it's not on mine

   think it's 15 rather than 17 but I could be wrong, if it's 15 then the top of the' o'   is squashed to fit it in

Thank you Oesho for the correction, the mintname is well Lucknow, and the best is that I possess the same!! (dated 1054 AH / ry.18) on which the AH date is located at 7 o'clock in the square (at end of Kalima), it seems to be absent on this one ?
This coin is scarce as it isn't catalogued neither by Brown nor by Whitehead (Lucknow museum & Lahore), but have been found more recently I think.

That's most interesting saro,  can you post a photo of yours for comparison?   I think I've just spotted the date. at 7 o clock in the bottom of the Kalima square, see what you think, the 10 is very clear but I'm not sure about the other 2 parts,

looks like 1051 altho the 0 is distorted  & looks like an 8 ,

Yes I can  ....here scans of my coin, the AH date may be 1054 or 53, the last digit isn't very clear.

I don't think our Rupees are the same as KM #235.3,which seems to be the only listing for Lucknow,

KM #235.3 is for Akbarabad mint; Lucknow mint is KM #235.18.
The AH date in the bottom left corner most likely reads 1051. The five may perhaps be clumsy engraved, but the last digit seems to be again a one.
The only regnal years, which combine with AH 1051, are 14 and 15. The regnal year above the ‘Jim’ of Jahan is very roughly engraved, but in combination with 1051 should indeed be 15.

The Regnal year 18 combines only with AH1054 and 1055. In this case the date would be AH1054/Ry.18.
BTW just must be lucky to have a rupee of this mint, as coins i.n.o. Shah Jahan of Lucknow mint are pretty scarce and still missing form my collection  .

I meant KM #235.18. got a bit confused  , I paid very little for my Rupee on Sunday at a coin fair near where I live in UK, it was listed as 'Indian Rupee £12' so I got a bargain there, apart from that the whole fair was mostly Roman/Greek & English with just a few odd coins of British India & I found a couple of Princely states  in a mixed box of 50p coins
