The obverse shows the nominal "6 KREUZER" above the separator "-.-", the year and the initials of the mint.
On the reverse is the crowned Austrian coat of arms surrounded by the words "K. K. OESTERREICHISCHE SCHEIDEMÜNZE".
The 1849 dated issues were struck from 1849-1852 and restruck again in 1859-1870.

After 1876 k.k. meant the Austrian part of the dual monarchy only, Hungary not involved.
k.u.k. means: all parts of Austria-Hungary involved.

Prior to 1876, it could be either or both I suppose..
