Look at this poorly produced piece,
Not only did it suffer a grease filled die but the mintmark seems to be doubled too.
It it worth doing something with - or just scrap?

There is collector interest here in the U.S. for error coins. Pieces like this one might bring a bit of a premium, and of course it has 40% silver content so don't junk it. It's hard to determine an exact value as even some of the more spectacular errors can be found in the $30-$50 range. It's not a treasure, but an interesting piece none the less. Either grease of perhaps some other material got in the way in the minting process.

To me it looks like post mint damage. Almost looks like it has been gouged out.

Looks like a filled die and a repunched mintmark to me. Looks like a weak strike which is routine for the series.
Might have some collector interest but I am out of touch with the US market.
