Does anyone have a picture of the 2 rupee Common wealth coin. Googling did not help.

I presume that you are talking about the 2 rupee coin of Commonwealth Games.

The 2 rupee (or for that matter, even the 5 rupee coin) has still not been issued by the mints for the General circulation to the Public. However, the coins are available in UNC and Proof sets. I have uploaded the images from my UNC Set. Hope that this serves your purpose.

RBI published a press release on October 11, 2010 saying that these coins will be put into circulation 'soon'.

Never imagined that 'soon' means 8 months.. ;D

Why does the finish looks so poor & crude as if the coin has been casted?
Maybe because its a big /close pic for a small coin?

Refer edited image , I feel this circulation coin is in extra fine condition see edges on both side quite sharp without any indication of wear/tear.

Cheers ;D
