This year's commemorative €2 coin from the Vatican was designed by Orietta Rossi. While writing my posts about the piece, I looked at her website for more images. While I am no admirer of the latter-day Baroque style, the portraits are jaw-droppingly good. The persons are immediately recognizable, which is hard enough on a coin, but she even succeeds in reflecting their character, especially on the medals.
